Great NEWS!!! I just did an interview for We Make Money Not Art!!!! It was a precursor interview for the upcoming Pictoplasma NYC conference November 3rd - November 6th. I will be discussing all the history and inner workings of my brain.....Cover your kids ears!!!! There also will be small show of new and old Longoland work at the Cappellini showroom in SOHO (152 WOOSTER) with the very talented Genevieve Gauckler for the entirety of that weekend!!!

I was recently asked to build a finger puppet for a friend's girlfriend. Lets call him Austin and her Angie. She happens to be one of my closest friends. I have known her since 2003 when I started working at Macy's as a "creative consultant/in house amusement advisor". I had forgotten I built the puppet because he asked back in May, but last week that same finger puppet was used to as a vessel to carry a serious engagement ring!!!!! So to put it simple he hid the ring the in butthole of the finger puppet!!!!!!!! Surprise!!!!!!!!!! It is an honor to be a part of something so special. I wish them the best of luck in their future adventures.

I have been busy with this stool commission that just keeps on going. I love its going to be awesome.... I have way surpassed the hours/$ ratio, but it will be amazing. I also got the test samples for the die cut scales. There will be a complete grey monster skin rug by months end. Now that I have finally got the scales made, there will probably be more use of scales in the near future. As for "normal" life which I usually dont discuss, I have been doing some design work for BHLDN (part of the URban Outfitters family)... Its there wedding line.... Chandeliers, tiered cake plates, and other amazing items. I have also been creating tshirt graphics and prints for Free People. I will post when they are made. I havent forgotten about you ALEkz. My wheels are turning full speed. Your little guy will be there soon.

I just finished an illustration tshirt from an awesome band back home in New Jersey... The Sun The Moon The Stars... I will post completed when they decide on colors.... I am making masks for a music video directed by Lazer beam Spaceship Pirate..... I am working on a custom stool for a very patient client... And I am excite to announce that I have been commissioned to make a grey (industrial felt) monster skin rug. I have also been creating original art and patterns for a big retailer... very exciting. It gives me the opportunity to try my hand at other styles.... Will post when it hits the market.....

I designed monsters (with the help of Chelsea Carter!) for the ad agency VCCP for a brand campaign for the German Telecommunications Company, "o2"....... It just premiered in Germany yesterday!!! The monsters represents tariffs that the phone companies impose on you. There will be commercials, online ads, instore displays, all covered in Longoland monsters. I would love to do more commercial monster work!!! I will post sketches from the process in the coming days!!!! Heres a link to the official press release!!!

"I thought you might be interested in seeing some pictures of your monsters beeing exhibited in the o2 hq in Munich. I had nothing but my blackberry camera on me, so sorry for the bad quality.
After seeing the new add posters in the elevator this morning i just wondered what those awesome creatures might be. Then 10 minutes later i stumbled over this blog post on boing-boing.
